How to login to the Cfs Portal
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Cfs Portal, it is a digital library that provides access to journal articles, conference proceedings, and other academic resources.
To access the Cfs Portal, you will need to login first. There are two ways to do this:
1. If you are a current UBC student, faculty, or staff member, you can log in using your UBC NetID and password. If you have forgotten your NetID or password, please visit their [https://help.ubc.ca/en/webapps/accounts/login-forgot-password/help-article.aspx?lang=en&type=help link to reset your password].
2. If you are not a current UBC student, faculty, or staff member, you can sign up for a free trial account and then use your login credentials to access the Cfs Portal. How to add a provider
If you are not familiar with the cfsportal, we recommend that you first read their introductory article. There you will learn about how CFS Portal works and how to use it. In this article, we will show you how to add a provider.
To add a provider, follow these steps:
1) Open CFS Portal.
2) Click on the Add Provider button on the left side of the main window.
3) On the next page, enter the necessary information (see below).
4) Click on the Next button.
5) On the following page, select your provider type from the list (see below).
Provider Type: Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)
The following providers are available: Amazon S3 (AWS), Google Cloud Storage (GCS), IBM Bluemix Cloud Files, and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage.
Note: If you are using CFS as a front-end for a data warehouse, you should choose either Amazon Redshift or IBM DB
How to edit an existing provider
If you have an existing Cfs Portal provider that you would like to edit, you can do so by logging in to your account and following these steps:
1. Click on the "Providers" tab on the main menu.
2. Locate your provider and click on it to open it in the editor.
3. On the left-hand side of the editor, you will see a listing of all of the content available for this provider. To edit any of this content, simply click on it and make your changes.
4. When you are done editing, hit the "Save" button at the top of the editor to save your changes and return to the main menu.
How to remove a provider
If you want to remove a provider from the Cfs Portal, follow these steps:
1. Log in to the Cfs Portal.
2. Click on the Provider Details tab.
3. On the Provider Details page, click on the Remove button next to the provider you want to remove.
4. Review the removal confirmation message and click on the Remove button again to confirm your removal.
How to view and print your records
When you are logged in to the CFSPortal, your records are on the left-hand side of the screen. To view or print your records, follow these steps:
1. Click on the "My Records" tab at the top of the screen.
2. To print your records, click on the "Print My Records" link.
3. To view your records, click on a record name to open it in a new window or tab.
