Penn Portal For Students is a new online portal that provides students with personalized access to Penn's many services and resources. In this article, we'll show you how to login and access your student account.
How to login to Penn Portal
If you are new to Penn Portal, or if you forgot your password, follow these simple steps to login:
1. Go to https://portal.upenn.edu/login and log in with your username and password. If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the login page and enter your email address and password into the appropriate fields. A link will be sent to you that will allow you to reset your password.
2. Click on the "My Account" tab at the top of the page. This tab contains all of your account information, including your name, course list, grades, and comments. You can also access your transcripts and offices via this tab.
3. Click on "Student Login" in the left sidebar under "My Account." This will take you to a page where you can create a new user name or log in as an existing user. You will need your username and password from step 1 in order to log in to Student Login.
4. If you are logged in as an existing user, click on the "My Profile" link in the upper right corner of the Student Login
Logging In for the First Time
If you are a new student at Penn, you will need to login in order to access your Penn Portal. To do this, first log in to your My Penn portal account. Once you have logged in, click on the "Login" button on the top right of the page. Enter your username and password, and hit the "Log In" button. You will now be redirected to the Penn Portal home page.
Launching Your Profile
If you're a new Penn student, you'll need to create an account to get started. To login, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Penn Portal for Students homepage and click on the "Login" button in the top-left corner.
2. Enter your student number and PIN and click on the "Log In" button.
3. You'll be taken to your personalized user dashboard. On the left side of your screen, under "My Account," click on "Sign In."
4. Enter your email address and password and click on the "Sign In" button.
5. You'll be taken to your main Penn portal page. Congratulations! You've logged in!

To login to your Penn Portal for Students account, first navigate to https://portal.penn.edu/login. Enter your username (e.g., "jsmith") and password (e.g., "password"). You will be prompted to choose a user profile from the drop down menu: Under My Penn Portal for Students Activities, you will see a list of your active degree programs and courses in each program. Click on the course(s) you wish to update, then enter the relevant course information in the fields provided: Under Degree heading, select the degree you earned from Penn (e.g., "BS in Psychology"). Under Course heading, select the courses you took at Penn (e.g., "Psychology 101"). Click on Update Profile to save your changes.

If you are a Penn student, you can add your academic and award information to your portal account. To add your information, first log in to your portal. Then click My Academics on the left side of the page. On the Academics tab, click Add an Academic or Award. In the Add an Academic or Award dialog box, enter the following information: Name: Your full name

Choose one of your departments Course(s): Enter the course number and title for each course you have taken at Penn

Checking your Academic Progress
Penn Portal for Students allows users to check their academic progress, view and update their transcript, and see the grades they have received. To login, visit pennportal.sas.upenn.edu and click on "Login." Enter your username (e.g., "jsmith") and password (e.g., "password"). You will then be able to access all of your information on Penn Portal.
Uploading Documents for Your Application
If you are applying to Penn, you will need to upload a copy of your transcript and application essay to the Penn Portal for Students. You can login to the Penn Portal for Students using your Penn credentials, which you can find on your MyPenn account. To upload your documents, follow these steps:
1. Log in to the Penn Portal for Students using your Penn credentials.
2. On the Home page, under Academics, click Student Services.
3. Click Upload Documents.
4. Select the file types you would like to upload and click Upload.
5. Review the document verification process andclick Submit Documents to continue.
6. Your documents have been uploaded and are now available on the MyPenn portal!
Checking Your Application Status
If you have applied to Penn, you can check your application status online. To do this, go to the Penn Portal and log in using your Penn ID and password. Once you are logged in, select "Application Status." You can view your application status by selecting the semester and year in which you applied, as well as by selecting the "Application Status By Campus" tab. You can also view your application status PDFs by selecting the "Application Status By Campus" tab and then clicking on the link for the semester or year in which you applied.
Payment Plans for your Application Fee
Penn Portal for Students offers payment plans for your application fee. You can pay your application fee in full, or you can choose to pay it over a period of time. The following payment plans are available: six monthly payments, one lump sum payment, or a combination of both lump sum and monthly payments. To choose a payment plan, click on the "Pay My Application Fee" link on the Penn Portal for Students homepage.
If you choose to pay your application fee in full, your application will be processed as normal. If you choose to pay it over a period of time, your application will be processed as soon as all of the payments have been made. Payments can be made online using a credit or debit card, or by check. If you plan to make multiple payments, we recommend that you set up a PayPal account so that payments are easily made.

Requesting Transcripts from Other Colleges and Universities
If you are a student who is currently attending another college or university, and you would like to request transcripts from Penn, there are a few steps that you need to take.
First, you will need to create an account on the Transcript Requesting Portal. This portal is located at http://transcriptrequestingportal.penn.edu/. Once you have created your account, you will need to provide some basic information about yourself, such as your name and Penn ID number.
You will also need to provide the name of the college or university that you are currently attending. Once you have provided all of the necessary information, you will be able to submit your requests.
Please note that not all colleges and universities offer transcripts online. If your college or university does not offer transcripts online, please contact them directly for assistance.
How to update or change your personal information
If you have an Penn username and password, you can login to your account through the Penn Portal for Students. If you do not have a Penn username and password, or if you need to update your personal information, please follow the instructions below.
