If you are a traveler and own an Indian passport, know that you now have a new way to access various services online. The Passport Portal Seva login service lets you easily register for online services, open a bank account, and more from your desktop or mobile device. Here's how to use it.
How to use the Passport Portal Seva Login
To use the Passport Portal Seva Login, please follow these instructions:
1. Log in to your account at passportportal.gov.in.
2. Click on "Login" located in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Enter your login credentials and click on "Login."
4. You will then be taken to the "My Account" page where you can see all of your account information and activities.
5. Click on "Manage My Account" to update your contact and password information, as well as reset your password if it has been lost or stolen.
How to change your password
If you've forgotten your password, or just want to change it, follow these steps:
1. Log into the passport portal at www.passport.gov.in
2. Click on "My account" in the top right corner of the screen
3. On the "My account" page, click on "Change password" in the left column
4. Enter your current password in the "New Password" text field and your new password in the "New Password (again)" text field
5. Click on "Update password" to submit your changes
How to view your passport status
If your passport is already issued and has not expired, you can view your passport status by logging into the Passport Portal. To login, follow these steps:
1. Click the link in the email you received when you registered for the Passport Portal. If you have not yet registered for the Passport Portal, click here to register.
2. Enter your email address and password in the appropriate fields and click Login.
3. If you have previously logged into the Passport Portal, your login information will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Otherwise, click New User to create a new account and enter your name, date of birth, gender, and other personal information.
4. After you have logged in, you will see a list of all of your passports in chronological order. On this page, you can view your passport's photograph, expiration date, issue date, and signature. You can also print or download your passport summary (an overview of your passport), change your password, or request a replacement passport if it is lost or stolen.
How to submit a request for a replacement passport
If your passport is lost or stolen, you can submit a request for a replacement passport through the Passport Portal Seva.
To login to the Passport Portal Seva and submit your request, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Passport Portal Seva website at www.passportportal.gov.in
2. Click on ‘login’ in the top left corner of the homepage
3. Enter your email address and password (if you have set one up) and click on ‘login’ again
4. On the main screen, under ‘My Services’, click on ‘Request a New Passport’
5. On the next page, under ‘How to Request a New Passport’, click on ‘Submit a Request’
6. In the ‘Passport Information Section’, enter your full name, date of birth, gender and country of origin (if different from your current country)
7. Under ‘Additional Information’, provide any documents that support your request for a new passport such as ID cards or certificates of citizenship. Make sure to include scans
How to report a lost or stolen passport
Passport Portal Seva is a one stop shop to help you in case you lose or your passport gets stolen.
To report a lost or stolen passport, follow these simple steps:
- Go to the \"Passport Portal Seva\" website and enter your visa number and date of birth. If you don’t have these numbers, contact the embassy or consulate where you obtained your passport
- Click on \"Report a lost or stolen passport\"
- Enter your contact information including full name, email address, telephone number and the type of passport (if known)
- Click on \"Submit report\"
- You will receive an email notification once your report has been processed.
How to track your passport order
If you have misplaced your passport, or if it has been lost or stolen, you can use Passport Portal Seva to track the order and status of your passport. The following instructions will show you how to login and use the service.
First, go to passportportal.gov.in and enter your e-mail address and password in the login form. You will then be taken to the My Passport Portal page. On this page, you will see a list of all of your passports that are currently active and an order number for each one. You can also see the status of your order (pending, processing, issued, etc.) by clicking on the “My Order” link on the left side of the page. You can also print out your order information if you need to carry it with you.
If you have lost your passport, you should immediately go to your local police station and request that they start a search for it. If you have lost your passport while traveling outside of India, you should immediately begin the process of obtaining a new one by visiting passportportal.gov.in and entering your travel details.
