What is Parent Portal and what are the benefits?
Parent Portal is a new feature that came with the new version of Blackboard for educators. Parent Portal allows parents to access their child's grades, homework, and other information from a centralized location. The benefits of using Parent Portal include: Parents can keep up to date on their child's academic progress;
They can manage their child's homework;
They can get notified when there are changes to the portal; and
Parents can get help from the Blackboard team if they have any questions or problems.
To login to Parent Portal, first you need to create an account. To do this, go to Parent Portal and click on Sign In. You will be asked to provide your username and password. Once you have logged in, you will see the Home page. On the Home page, you will see three sections: My Child, School, and Portal. In My Child section, you will find all of your child’s information: grades, progress reports, assignments, and more. In School section, you will find information about your child’s school: grades and test scores, attendance records, teacher contact information, and more. How to login to Parent Portal
If you are a parent or guardian of a student in the Wake County Public Schools, you can log into their Parent Portal to manage your student's information. To login, please follow these steps:
1. Go to https://portal.wakegov.com/login and enter your school code and password.
2. On the right-hand side of the page, click on "Parent Portal".
3. On the Parent Portal page, click on "Login".
4. In the "Login Options" box, enter your e-mail address and password (you will be asked to create a new password if you do not have an account). Click on "Log In".
5. If you are a parent or guardian of more than one student at your school, you will need to select which students' information you would like to view from the dropdown menu next to "Student Names". Once you have selected all of the students' names, click on "Submit".
How to manage your child's account
If you have more than one child using the Parent Portal, it can be helpful to manage their accounts separately. Follow these steps to login and access your child's account:
1. Log in to your Parent Portal account.
2. In the top left corner of the screen, click on "My Profile."
3. On the My Profile page, under "Accounts," click on "Manage Accounts."
4. Under "My Child's Account," click on "Login."
5. Enter your child's username and password, and click on "Login."
6. Your child's account should now be open! You can access all of their information and activities in the same way as you would if they were using their own account.
How to remove a student from your account
If you would like to remove a student from your account, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Parent Portal account.
2. Click on the Students tab.
3. Find the student you would like to remove and click on their name to open their profile.
4. On the right-hand side of the student's profile, under "My Account" click on "Remove Student."
5. Confirm your removal by clicking on "Yes, Remove This Student From My Account."
How to block a student from contacting you

If you have ever had to deal with a student who just won’t leave you alone, then you know how frustrating it can be when they keep messaging you. Well, there is a way to block a student from contacting you on Parent Portal, and it is super easy to do.
First, go to Parent Portal and sign in. Next, click on the “Blocked Students” link in the upper left corner of the screen. This will take you to a list of all of the students who have been blocked from contacting you. To unblock a student, simply click on their name and then click on the “Unblock Student” button. Voila! Problem solved!
