Application Process

Deposit Policy
Lake Forest College is committed to providing quality, affordable housing for its students. To ensure that their students are able to live in the College community without worrying about their housing costs, all Lake Forest College students must register and make a deposit for all housing options before reserving a room. The following is a list of the different housing options and their corresponding deposit policy:
-On-campus apartments: $250 per person (plus $50 per night fee)
-Off-campus apartments: $400 per person (plus $100 per night fee)
-Residence halls: $250 per person (plus $50 per night fee)
-Room rentals: $300 per week or $200 per month
Move In Procedures
If you are a new student at Lake Forest College and have not yet registered for classes, please go to the Registration website and follow the steps to create an account. Once you have registered, you will be able to access your MyLC account which will include your student ID number, name, e-mail address and password. You will also need to create a housing portal account in order to reserve rooms on campus.
To create your housing portal account:
1. Log in to MyLC.
2. Click on the Student Services link in the left-hand menu.
3. Select Housing Portal in the dropdown menu.
4. Enter your student ID number (found on your MyLC registration page) in the “User ID” field.
5. Confirm your username and password in the “Forgot Your Password?” and “Remember Me” fields, respectively.
6. Click on “Create Account” to create your housing portal account.
Maintenance and Repair Procedures
Lake Forest College Housing Portal Maintenance and Repair Procedures:
1.Login to the Housing Portal via https://housingportal.lakeforestcollege.edu/.
2.Click on “Maintenance and Repair Procedures” in the left-hand navigation menu.
3.Select a policy category from the drop-down menu (e.g., “Liability”), and then click on the “Policy Guidelines” link under that category heading.
4.Click on the “Housing Portal Policies” hyperlink to view a list of all policies in that category, and then click on the link for the policy you are interested in (i.e., “Landlord Liability Policy Guidelines”).
5.The “Policy Guidelines” page will display each policy with its associated information, including a description of what is covered by that policy, how it is enforced, who is responsible for following it, and what penalties may be imposed if violations occur.

Find Your Unit
Lake Forest College Housing Portal is designed to make finding a room on campus easy.
Login: Click the Login link in the upper right corner of the homepage. Enter your e-mail address and password and click Log In. Your name will appear in the list of users below. If you have forgotten your password, click Reset Password and enter your e-mail address and new password.
Click My Account at the top of the page to view your account information, including your unit assignment and roommate information.
