The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is a public tertiary institution located in Nairobi, Kenya. The KMTC offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes.
The undergraduate programmes are two years in length and offer a choice of five specialisations: general medicine, family medicine, paediatrics, surgery, or obstetrics and gynaecology. The postgraduate programmes are also two years in length and offer a choice of five specialisations: general medicine, family medicine, paediatrics, surgery, or obstetrics and gynaecology. All programmes include a compulsory yearlong core curriculum that covers subjects such as medical genetics, biochemistry and microbiology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and toxicology and community health.
The KMTC accepts both Kenyan nationals and foreign students through the matriculation process. The application fee for Kenyan nationals is Sh5,000 while the application fee for foreign students is Sh75,000. Additionally, international students must pay an additional Sh10,000 for health insurance cover.
