Medications
Medications are one of the most common reasons patients visit the clinic. There are many different medications, and each has a different way of being taken. Here is a list of some of the most common medications and their instructions for taking them:
-Aspirin: Take a tablet as soon as you feel a headache coming on. Do not wait for it to get worse. If you have a heart condition, ask your doctor if taking aspirin with other medications may be dangerous for you.
-Corticosteroids: These medicines are used to help reduce inflammation and swelling in the body. They should be taken as directed by your doctor. Some people take them every day, while others only take them when they have an infection or when they need to reduce swelling in the airways after surgery.
-Laxatives: Some people need to use laxatives to relieve constipation. Your doctor will give you specific instructions about how often and how much laxative to take.
-Birth control pills: Women usually take birth control pills either every day or every other day. Follow your doctor's instructions about how often to take them and what time of day is best for you.
-Painkillers: Painkillers
